Have you seen the recent new additions in Singapore: Donut Factory at Raffles City and Vinco - The Doughnut Parlour, opened at VivoCity mall.

I really wouldn't say the queue at these 2 donut shops are ridiculously long but one thing for sure is the queue at Donut Factory (no personal experience to share about Vinco) is extremely slow! It's true; the queue REALLY crawls….
Anyway I read on the forums and apparently Donut Factory's donuts seem to have a better rating on a overall.
I reckon it will be a good 2 hours wait before I can get my hand into one of those donuts. In fact I am wondering if the queue was caused mainly by the slow production or truly due to ceaseless buyers. Well wherever the bottleneck is, Donut Factory has undoubtedly created a sensation in Raffles City.
Even though I really want to try the supposedly “light, fluffy and melt in your mouth freshly baked” donuts, I am MOST UNWILLING to spend 2 long hours queuing! What can be worse is - all those time was used to buy some sweet flours that are so ordinary and everything was just an over-hype!
Honestly I am beginning to suspect that the owner(s) is/are paying people to queue so as to portray an image of high demand. Hey seriously I am not making this conjecture without any basis ok!? Just think about it, there are people queuing for donuts at the weirdest hours like on a weekday between 3-4pm. Moreover, on 2 separate occasions I was there to try my chance, I overheard exactly the same comments - “Well 2 hours is worth it. worth it!” How can I not have my reservations after hearing that?
Well whether those comments were really paid “verbal ad” or pure coincidence, I WOULD still want to taste the donuts for myself someday when the craze ease off. Hopefully by then the reason for the faster shorter queue is not because the quality has dropped but just because people needs a break from too much flours. Otherwise, it really wouldn't do these donuts any justice…
